my 4 months baby have cough/cold from two days. Doctor GAVE azithromycin oral suspension zithromax suggested .Baby got loose motions 5 to 6 in small quantity IN A DAY.Than DOCTOR suggested stool test and no mucus found.Doctor said everything is ok and gave entrogermina,cofdex AND discontinue azithromycin oral suspension
Baby is drinking milk and is active and passing urine normally.PLS tell me is there anything to worry.

answer: the most common cause of loose stools at this age is rotavirus. if the motions are mucus like sticky and not watery, it can as well the cough/expectoration passing in stool. if the motions are settled now, nothing to worry. the danger in loose motions is of dehydration. reat about dehydration and its management at www.rehydrate.org
